Beta SP is a broadcast quality format which for many years was the benchmark for high-quality, corporate video. It is considerably less expensive than High Definition to shoot and somewhat less expensive than Digital Betacam, but still delivers excellent looking results. For many years, Beta SP was also the standard for news gathering stations worldwide.
Production in Beta SP is perfectly suited for a large segment of our clientele. It's cost effective and provides a crisp, broadcast quality image. Especially now that most of our projects are released on DVD rather than on VHS, many clients are very happy with productions shot on Beta SP. That's because DVD is able to replicate so much greater detail and nuance than the older VHS format, that productions shot on Beta SP are looking better than ever to them. We use an Ikegami HL-57 camera for our Beta SP productions, which is noted for its pleasing rendition of facial tones.
